Hello Aoife, I’m sorry that I didn’t respond to your Twitter messages, for some reason I didn’t get to see them until a few days ago.

I’ve seen some of your art on this site and like it very much. You have the voice of a Celtic artist all right.

For what it’s worth, I enjoy looking at paintings when time allows. I’m a busy mother of four trying to carve out an identity for myself as a writer. I know the feeling of wanting to express your creativity to the full and also of wanting to earn your bread by your art. Being married to someone with a steady job, which I am, is a great help. At least the food and roof business is taken care of. On the other hand, we have four kids to launch into the world so the income is pretty much spoken for. Definitely, we could do with a second income and I’ve not yet had much success in that area. Naturally, I’ll continue in my endeavours.

Most people are basically in the same boat. Purchasing original works of art either as a hobby or an investment is more or less out of the reach of many people, particularly people in the service sector. I suppose if an artist can get corporate sponsorship, at least in the early stages, or sell their work to members of the business community, they can succeed in building a successful and financially satisfying career.

So as of now, my appreciation of art would be limited to admiring the paintings in the possession of others and grabbing an odd visit to a gallery when time allows. Perhaps, if my dreams are realized and I become successful in my chosen field, I would then be in a position to purchase art works. I would like that very much

In the meantime, my enjoyment of art will continue as it has been doing until now. I’ll look out to see if any exhibition of your is going on in Dublin the next time I visit there. Which will hopefully be within the next year.

I wish you every success with your art work.

Wishing you a lot of success at the exhibition, a lot of power to paint onto such a big area and of course enough money to stay there for more days, not just for work. Your art is very nice, colours remind me of northern cultures. Keep on : )
…and sorry I cannot help you, I’m on the same ship
