About A Sad Clown ~
I wanted to paint a clown, an interesting clown, and I thought a sad clown would be more interesting to paint than a happy one. There are so many more emotions going on with this sad face , than there would be if he were happy. I wonder why is he sad, why has he one tear, what does it represent? The look on his face seems to be one of loneliness, of a clown that once was loved by everyone that has now become a lonely old clown, with no one around for him to make smile or to smile back at him. I feel his red nose amongst the blueness of his face and emotions depicts hope, hope that he may one day bring laughter again and leave his loneliness behind him.
